Express-Arte project-
Is a Multicultural Artists project formed with the purpose of providing
a space for artists, artisans, designers, poets & musicians
eager to express their unique talents, showing and exhibiting their
work, inspiring other creative people not to give up their creative
process. Express-Arte's shows are open to creative men & women
of all backgrounds to participate. Express-arte, is a play of words
between enjoying arts over a cup of espresso, while expressing our
unique and diverse talents. |
| Our
mission is to give an opportunity for local Artists to expose the
product of their talents, show what our diverse community is capable
of, network with other artists while having fun and coffee in the
meantime. Our events will be held at a Havana Bay Coffee, a gourmet
coffee/espresso bar that provides a unique atmosfere of a nostalgic
Cuban theme of yesteryear. Havana Bay Coffee strugles in their
commitment to keep the arts and culture alive. Through exhibitions,
performances by artists, musical events, discussion groups, poetry
in both Spanish and English, Havana Bay Coffee continues to enrich
the lives of it's customers and the entire community every day. |
Highlights:
* We are a group of artists that work together to promote our art
shows inspiring each other in the process.
* The show will be around 4 to 5 hours long, free of charge to the
public.
* The event will showcase the work of fine artists, handmade aromatherapy
bath & body and soaps, handmade candles, handmade jewelry, designs
of wereable art, photography, fine art & prints, cartun art,
book signing, poetry reading both in Inglish and Spanish and live
acoustic performances including jazz bass, cello, percussion &
music improvization thougout the evening by local Musicians. |
"When
I play at art exhibits I play to the creations of art & try
to express them in a sonic form. As with dance and music, all
forms of art including spoken poetry, sculpture or brush strokes
on a canvas are created with a certain rhythm, timbre and dynamic
in the flow of the words, the movement of the hands or the flow
of the paint. These rhythms, timbres and dynamics can interconnect
with each other to influence, inspire & evolve the outcome
of both the music & the other forms of art. Just as music
supports & channels the dance and the dancer expresses the
music visually the same relationship can exist between all forms
of artistic expression to create a truly multicultural experience
drawing upon the experiences, expressions & interactions of
all of the performers."

Directions:
Havana Bay Coffee is conveniently located 5 minutes from
NYC in North Bergen, NJ. Located in the corner of 31st
street and Kennedy Blvd. There is unlimited parking since
we are part of the Columbia Park Shopping Center. |
| From
NJ by car: Take NJ Turnpike or NJ Parkway to 3 East.
Follow the signs for the Lincoln Tunnel. As you approach
495,(the stretch of road that leads to the tunnel), you will see
an exit for Kennedy Blvd. Take that exit, which will be on
your right hand side. There will be a Toys R Us store on the
right hand side. Go up the ramp to the light and make
a left on Kennedy Blvd. At the next light, (about 100
feet away) make another left. This looks as if you are making
a U-turn to get back on the highway but it's not. You will
see Havana Bay Coffee right at the corner facing the street and
away from the parking lot. Keep on going straight and you
will see an entrance on your right. This entrance takes you
to the lower level of the Columbia Park Shopping Center.
Drive to the end and up the ramp to the upper level.
Park as close as possible to Kennedy Blvd. and walk to the corner.
We are right behind the Sprint Store. For a map of the area
